You have probably visited my website in order to know a bit more about my life, career, titles, goals, etc... However I would like to share with you something that I consider much more important.I want to tell you the reason why I am a real happy human being, with great peace inside and always secure. Money, fame, and everythingelse that soccer can give could not give me such security. When I came to Palmeiras in 1992 I practiced separately from the group for 6 months. I knew I was capable of playing for the team however I was not given the opportunity. It was very bad. I do not blame anyone for this; I know these things happen. But it is hard for anyone to bear this. Because of this situation I couldn't have peace, and without peace inside it is hard to face the day -to-day life, even to sleep at night! Until when one night something unforgetable happened. A very great peace filled my my soul that I could not comprehend. I only knew that I was feeling something that for a great while I had not felt. It was one of the best nights of sleep of my life: I could sleep like I had never been able to. This peace continues with me, and it will forever remain. "But", you may be asking yourself, "how can this be?". What happened on that night was something that changed my life forever. It was the night when I surrendered the direction of my life to Jesus Christ, trusting Him as my only and sufficient Saviour. He is the reason for my happiness and peace! I believe that no human being can be complete if the presence of God is not real in his life. Not even fame, money, or any other thing can fulfil and bring peace to someone like Jesus Christ can. I want to make it clear that my intention is not to dissuade anyone to change their religion. No religion can bring God's presence into someone's life. Only Jesus Christ can! Above all else my desire for you is that you give yourself a chance to start a new life which will surely bring you an incomparable happiness! The Bible affirms that "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not not perish, but have everlasting life" (Book of John 3:16). To believe on this truth was the most important decision I have ever made and the most decisive goal in my life. Today I don't depend on the good or bad moments that life gives us. I would like for you to have the same experience that I had. Open your heart to God and give Jesus this chance. I want you to know that when someone receives Jesus Christ in their life deep changes are made, as the Word of God (the Bible) teaches us: - All your sins are forgiven ( I John 1:9). - You are adopted by God, becoming a child of God ( Book of John 1:12) - God's wrath is removed, because Christ has suffered the punishment that you deserved ( Book of John 3:36) -The Spirit of God begins to indwell you ( Epistle to the Ephesians 1:13) v - You receive eternal salvation and a place secure in Heaven for you ( Book of John 5:24) - You are born again and become a new creature, for you have received a new life ( Book of John 3:3-7) - The peace that only God can give fills your soul( Book of Romans 15:13).
